As a teacher, you can chat with the students during an exam by using the built-in chat. You can find the chat to the right in the monitoring view.

Students can also send messages to the teacher, provided the teacher is in the monitoring view. Students can find the chat in the exam menu.

The teacher can send messages to all students or to individual students. Students can only send chat messages to the teacher.

Note that communication only takes place in real-time and requires that both parties are active at the same time. The messages that are sent are not saved and cannot be accessed after the students have submitted their exams.
