In this guide, we will walk you through how to set a time limit on your exams, which means that access to the exam for students will automatically be disabled after a certain period.

Steps to Set a Time Limit on Exams:

1. Open the Exam Settings
   Go to the settings for the specific exam you wish to time-limit.
   
   
2. Navigate to the Time Limit Settings
   In step 3 of the exam settings, you will find the option to enable the time limit.
   
   
3. Enable and Set the Time Limit
   Activate the time limit and specify the amount of time students will have to complete the exam. This time limit will take effect as soon as the student starts the exam.
   
4. Countdown Starts
   Once a student begins the exam, the countdown starts automatically and is displayed in the bottom left corner. Students will be able to see how much time they have left, and when there are 2 minutes remaining, they will receive a warning. The exam will automatically end when time runs out.
   
   
   
   

Important Points to Consider:

• Resuming the Exam Resets the Timer:
  If a student needs to resume the exam for any reason, the timer will reset and start over from the beginning.
  
  
• The Time Cannot Be Changed for Ongoing Exams:
  Once students have started their exam, the time limit is loaded. This means you cannot change the time settings for students who are currently taking the exam.

You can't add time for individual students in the same exam. All students get the same amount of time.

If you want some students to have more time than others, our best tip is to create a separate exam for those students.

Also, If you want students to continue their work after the timer runs out, they can resume the exam.
